with other degree programmes which have their seat in the University
Hospital.
With regards to the University clinic research activity, 14 people, both
students and professors, are currently carrying out their activities in the
Baggiovara Hospital, in a context of supporting partnership with the
university departments of Biomedical Science, Metabolic sciences and
Neurosciences.
In addition, also the medical-heath specialisation schools of Endocri-
nology and Metabolic disease, Geriatry, Neurology and Nutrition Sci-
ence have their operative units in the Baggiovara Hospital.
In order to ensure the stability of the collaboration between the San-
itary and University systems, as well as to guarantee the educational
continuity of the abovementioned degrees and of the clinical univer-
sity research, the Medical departments of Metabolic disease, Geriatry,
Endocrinology and Neurosciences are under the University’s direction.

Gerontology Assessment and Research Centre

Established in 1990, the Gerontology Assessment and Research Centre
(Baggiovara hospital) specifically deals with issues relating to geriatric
cardiology, psychogeriatrics, and screening for the prevention of falls
and fractures for the elderly.
